What animals occur in Queensland? The Queensland Museum holds the most comprehensive collections of the animals that occur in our state.

Come and explore these collections with our skilled scientists in this behind-the-scenes tour of the remarkable Collection and Research facility at Hendra.

Queensland Museum’s Collections and Research Centre at Hendra is the heart of our state’s scientific heritage. This hub houses Queensland Museum’s vast collections spanning Biodiversity, Geosciences, Archaeology, Indigenous Cultures, and Social History.

Labs Unlocked, part of the World Science Festival Brisbane, offers a rare opportunity to explore Hendra’s Wet Store Facility. Join a specially curated tour behind-the-scenes at this unique site. You’ll encounter preserved zoological specimens, gaining an exclusive insight into the rich biodiversity of Queensland that is carefully curated, managed, and maintained by Queensland Museum.

This tour is strictly for ages 18+. Closed-in shoes are essential.
