World Science Festival Brisbane wraps up for 2016
The science world well and truly made its mark on Brisbane last week. The tall red banners lining Victoria Bridge fluttered in the breeze all week long, rolling out something like a red carpet to the thousands of people who made their way to the first annual World Science Festival Brisbane (9-13 March, 2016). Plus the giant inflatable red cube and sprawling tents appeared along the Cultural Forecourt at South Bank in a flurry of activity, and announced the festival was in full swing.
Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct hummed for five days with the excitement of scientific exploration as thousands of curious Australians and visitors joined together to celebrate Einstein’s intellect, watch award-winning scientists share their insights, and explore that giant red cube — the Festival Lab — during the all-ages weekend event, Street Science!
The World Science Festival Brisbane packed in brilliant original performances, enlightening conversations, fascinating demonstrations and more swimming baby turtles than you will ever get tired of watching on loop. Rave reviews echoed throughout the city and online, highlighting that our city eagerly embraces the wonder of science in all of its forms.
