Lily Bentley

Dr. Lily Bentley is a marine biologist who studies the movement of animals across our planet’s oceans. From seabirds, to turtles, to whales, her research focuses on where migratory animals go, why they choose particular areas, and how we can best protect their critical habitats. She has a science degree with first class honours, on how wild saltwater crocodiles manage their body temperature, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge, on foraging behaviour of Antarctic albatrosses. In 2025 she will travel to the Smithsonian National Zoo as a Queensland-Smithsonian Research Fellow.
