In preparation for the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, students will explore and design solutions for how we can make the Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games the most sustainable yet. Working in small groups with different assigned Engineering roles, students will learn from the case study of the Tokyo Olympics, students will understand the levers associated with a carbon footprint and pitch their most innovative sustainable Olympic athlete village ideas. This workshop showcases the diverse range of Engineering careers possible, the role of an Engineer and the social impact within the built environment.

This program explores Critical and Creative Thinking, Science as a Human Endeavour and Science Inquiry, with key curriculum links in Design and Technologies for Years 9-10.
