Each year World Science Festival Brisbane paints the town red and takes science out of the laboratory and into the streets, parks, museums, galleries and performing arts venues of Brisbane and regional Queensland! Queensland Museum holds exclusive licence to host the festival in the Asia Pacific – the only global extension of this initiative, attracting over 1.5 million attendances since launching in 2016.
WSFB 2025 returns Friday 21 March – Sunday 30 March 2025. Volunteer applications close Friday 21 February 2025.
As a WSFB Volunteer you will be integral in making sure that patrons and participants have a fantastic experience.
We are looking for people who are:
- Comfortable communicating and working with people of all backgrounds and ages.
- Passionate about learning and sharing knowledge. A background in science is an asset, but not necessary.
- Reliable, flexible and enthusiastic.
- 18 years or older.
As a WSFB volunteer you will receive:
- A WSFB shirt and hat to wear while on shift and to keep as a memento.
- A certificate of appreciation from the WSFB team.
- Opportunities to attend WSFB events.
- Opportunities to network and meet likeminded people.
- Opportunities to share knowledge and passion for STEM.
- Discounts at Queensland Museum during WSFB.
