Getting to Queensland Museum Tropics

Queensland Museum Tropics is located at 70-102 Flinders Street, Townsville.

  • Public Transport

    Catch the Sunbus (now Kinetic) route 200, 201 or 206 from the Townsville City bus hub on Ogden Street.

    This bus departs at regular intervals from the Ogden Street bus hub to the Ferry terminal and will drop passengers off at the bus stop located outside the museum on the return journey back to the Ogden Street bus hub.

     

     

  • On Foot

    We are at 70-102 Flinders Street, Townsville. The museum is approximately a 10 minute walk from the corner of Flinders Street and Denham Street.

    Walk east down Flinders Street until you arrive at the museum.

  • By Car

    Head east down Flinders Street, follow the signs at the roundabout to the museum.

    Street parking is available directly opposite the museum.

  • Individual Needs

    Please give us a call on (07) 4726 0600 if you require assistance, or let us know when you arrive.

    We have a set down area at the front of the museum which is wheelchair accessible, as well as disabled toilets, lifts and ramps accessing all exhibitions levels.

    We recognise the Queensland Government’s Companion Card program, and admit carers free on presentation of appropriate identification.

    All Townsville events are held at Queensland Museum Tropics, 70-102 Flinders Street, Townsville.

    The activities on the student day are free for school students, but bookings are required.

    Most events for the general public are free. For any ticketed events, check the relevant event page for more details on tickets and prices.

    Access to ticketed exhibitions at Queensland Museum Tropics will still require a paid ticket.
