Sonu Yadav

Dr. Sonu Yadav is a Principal Molecular Scientist with the Northern Territory Government and an Adjunct Research Associate at Charles Darwin University. Her research applies molecular tools to species detection, management, and conservation, helping protect Australia’s biodiversity and agriculture. She investigates ecological and evolutionary questions across diverse study systems, including mammals, birds, and insects. Dr. Yadav leads a community science initiative that builds public understanding of molecular biology and promotes STEM career pathways, particularly in remote and regional schools across northern Australia. She collaborates with industry partners, researchers, First Nations communities, policymakers, and students to strengthen a coordinated biosecurity system.
