A classic science fiction featuring 1950s Hollywood royalty Kirk Douglas, James Mason and Peter Lorre, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is adapted from the 1870 Jules Verne novel. After receiving reports of a vicious sea monster, scientist Professor Aronnax boards a US Navy ship to investigate. An epic blockbuster that was technologically adventurous for its extensive underwater photography and amazing creature effects, the film characterises the ocean as a world of infinite mystery and unearthly beauty just waiting for humans to discover it.
