Major Road Closure for Sunday 30 March

Please note there will be road closures around Queensland Museum and the South Bank area on Sunday 30 March that may impact parking and traffic flow.

 

Grey Street (between Melbourne Street and Vulture Street) – Closed from 3:00am to 9:30am

 

Vulture Street (between Grey Street and Dock Street) – Closed from 6:30am to 9:30am

 

Grey Street (between William Jolly Bridge and Peel Street) – Closed from 5:30am to 9:30am

 

William Jolly Bridge – Closed from 5:30am to 9:30am

 

Peel Street (between Grey Street and Stanley Place) – Closed from 5:30am to 9:30am, with access maintained for staff at QPAC, GOMA, and the Cultural Centre.

 

Please leave a little more time for travel if you are driving to the Cultural Precinct on this date as traffic flow may be impacted by the closures and detours.

Getting to the Cultural Precinct

On foot

The museum is a short walk across the river from Brisbane’s CBD via the Victoria Bridge or the Kurilpa Bridge.

There are two main entrances located on Level 2 and Level 1 closest to the Cultural Centre Busway Station.

A third entrance is located on Level 0 via Grey Street, beside the Dinosaur Garden.

 

By car

The Queensland Cultural Centre Car Park (P2) is located underneath Queensland Museum Kurilpa. Entry via Stanley Place (vehicle height limit at entry: 2 metres).A temporary set down area for vehicles including taxis, coaches, school buses and minibuses is located on Stanley Place.Visitors with disability permits are advised to check with the attendant via the auto pay station intercom to confirm if person with disability bays (PWD bays) are available.Phone (07) 3840 7334 for assistance.

$17.60 per entry, per day.
Payment by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit card only.
No cash payments are accepted.
Car park opening hours
Monday to Sunday: 7am to Midnight.
Public Holidays: 7am to Midnight (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day).Alternative parking is available at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

 

By train

By Car

CityCat & Ferry

Take a ride on a CityCat down the Brisbane River and you’ll enjoy some of the city’s best views. CityCats operate every day and stop at the South Bank River Terminal on the Clem Jones Promenade. The inner-city ferry travels between the CBD, North Quay, and Kangaroo Point, stopping at South Bank Terminals 1 and 2 on the Clem Jones Promenade. If you’re looking to save some cash, take advantage of the free CityHopper, which visits South Bank daily.

 

Bus

South Bank is connected to Brisbane’s Busway with buses departing regularly from South Bank and Cultural Centre Stations. South Bank Busway Station provides the closest access to the Parklands, Little Stanley Street, Goodwill Bridge, and Queensland Maritime Museum. Cultural Centre Station provides the nearest access to South Bank’s Cultural Centre including the Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum, and Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

 

Train

South Bank has two train stations, both conveniently located on Grey Street, South Bank. Trains run regularly from the South Bank and South Brisbane Stations. South Bank Station provides the closest access to The Parklands, Little Stanley precinct, the Goodwill Bridge, and the Queensland Maritime Museum. South Brisbane Station provides the closest access to South Bank’s Cultural Centre including the Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum, and Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
