Melissa Fanshawe is a senior lecturer of mathematics curriculum and pedagogy in the School of Education at University of Southern Queensland. She has over twenty years’ experience within Queensland schools as a teacher, advisory teacher, Deputy and Principal.
Melissa has won a number of awards for teaching mathematics in schools and higher education, including a Commonwealth Bank teaching award, Education Queensland Showcase awards, an ASCILITE innovation award and an AAUT award for supporting students to develop a love of mathematics. Melissa’s interests are in using hands on manipulatives to create meaning and developing a positive mindset in mathematics for all students.
