Karl Glazebrook is a Distinguished Professor of Astronomy at the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. Karl is an observational astronomer whose research interests include observational cosmology and the formation and evolutionary history of galaxies.
He has played a key role in developing tools that enable scientists to conduct redshift surveys, which use large telescopes to measure the distance of celestial objects from earth. He is currently using the James Webb Space Telescope to study the how the earliest visible galaxies formed after the Big Bang.
