Alfred Ala Quai is an entrepreneur and founder of the Blac Ston Kava bar otherwise referred to in community as “Vatu Maeto” which was established in Magandjin/Brisbane in November, 2024.
Alfred Quai is from the northern part of Vanuatu, the Ambae Island which is a volcanic place with lots of volcanic rocks on coastal areas. The unique-ideal features of Ambae Island, “BLAC STON” meaning black stones inspired the name for his Kava Bar. Blac Ston Kava bar aims to bring the Vanuatu traditional drink to Australian audiences as both a community building engagement and a unique alternative to alcohol in support of sober consumers.
