Belinda Smith

Belinda Smith started writing about science after realising she just wasn’t going to cut it as a researcher. She’s now senior science reporter with ABC Science and hosts the weekly Radio National program Lab Notes, which dissects the science behind new discoveries and current events. Her work’s appeared on the BBC World Service and in the Best Australian Science Writing anthology 2016, 2018, 2023 and 2024.
