Chris Burwell joined the Queensland Museum in 1995 and is now Senior Scientist and Curator of insects. He also lectures at the Griffith University School of Environment.
Chris’ research focuses on the taxonomy, biology and ecology of Hymenoptera, the bees, wasps and ants. He specialises in ants and minute parasitic wasps. Chris also has a keen interest in dragonflies and damselflies and is working on a guide to the species of south-east Queensland. Chris has an ongoing research interest in the diet of insectivorous vertebrates including bats and carnivorous marsupials.
