Colin Limpus
Colin Limpus is Chief Scientist and a leading researcher for the Threatened Species Unit in the Queensland Government’s Department of Environment and Heritage Protection. He is a world expert in turtle research and conservation, and has dedicated his life’s work to protecting the future of turtle populations on the Queensland coast and throughout the renowned Mon Repos Turtle Rookery.
Colin is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland, School of Veterinary Science and Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, James Cook University. His current research encompasses the biology, reproductive ecology and population dynamics of long lived vertebrates including marine and freshwater turtles, crocodiles, dugong, and sea snakes.
