Dr. Margaret Jane Moore is a researcher who combines methods from cognitive neuroscience and clinical neuropsychology to explore normal and abnormal human cognition. Dr. Moore received a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford (UK) for her work exploring the neural causes of common cognitive problems in stroke survivors. This research improved scientific understanding of the neuroanatomy and cognitive causes of post-stroke impairments while helping to develop improved guidelines for diagnosing post-stroke cognitive problems in clinical environments.
Following her PhD, Dr. Moore relocated to the University of Queensland in 2022 to work as a postdoctoral research fellow. Her current research investigates how the brain’s expectations help shape how it perceives the world and how these predictive and attentional processes may be causally linked to common neuropsychological problems.
