Gavin Singleton

Gavin Singleton is a passionate environmental, community and cultural practitioner with cultural connections to Yirrganydji/Djabugay Nation (Cairns-Port Douglas region) and Umpila (East Cape York region). Gavin has worked in various roles including as Land and Sea Manager of the Yirrganydji Land and Sea Ranger Program and leading conservation, restoration and monitoring efforts in the Wet Tropics Rainforest and on the Great Barrier Reef. Gavin was awarded with the Wet Tropics Community Champion Cassowary Award in 2017 and has presented/performed at events such as the United Nations Oceans Decade Conference in Spain, United Nations Climate Change Conference in Poland, United Nations Oceans Conference in New York, IUCN World Parks Congress in Sydney, and TEDx JCU Cairns to name a few.
