Dr Jessica Worthington Wilmer is an evolutionary biologist and the Manager of Queensland Museum’s Molecular Identities Lab, part of the Biodiversity & Geosciences Program. Along with day-to-day lab management and administration, Jessica’s multifaceted role encompasses scientific research in the field and lab and managing the museum’s frozen tissue and DNA collection.
While at the museum, Jessica has been involved in genetic research projects on an incredible diversity of species including mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and marine, fresh water and terrestrial invertebrates. As part of these projects, Jessica has been involved in the description/redescription of almost 30 new species and genera.
