Liz Bissell

Dr Liz Bissell is the Senior Curator, Queensland Stories, in the Cultures and Histories team at Queensland Museum (QM). Liz has an academic background in Australian History and over 20 years’ experience in research with a focus on Queensland identity, women and culture. Prior to her work with QM, Liz spent ten years undertaking genealogical research for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. She brings a range of skills and experiences from her work across the cultural sector, including arts consultancy, grant writing and project work with the Australia Council for the Arts, Queensland Writers Centre, Queensland Theatre Company and more.
