Matthew W. Johnson, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins. Working with psychedelics since 2004, he is one of the most world’s most widely published experts on psychedelics. Matt published psychedelic safety guidelines (2008), helping to resurrect psychedelic research. He published the first research on psychedelic treatment of tobacco addiction (2014), and the largest study of psilocybin in cancer distress (2016). His psilocybin review (2018) recommended Schedule IV upon medical approval. Matt also conducts behavioral economic research on addiction and sexual risk. He’s been interviewed by 60 Minutes, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, BBC and Michael Pollan.
