Norman Swan

Norman Swan is a multi-award winning journalist and broadcaster, co-host of RN’s Health Report, and What’s That Rash? and reporter on ABC TV’s 7.30. Norman studied medicine in Scotland and trained in paediatrics before he began working for the ABC in 1982. He has been the Australian correspondent for the Journal of the American Medical Association and the British Medical Journal and consulted for the World Health Organisation in Geneva. In the early 1990s, he created Invisible Enemies, a four part documentary series on pandemics and civilisation for Channel 4 UK. A Gold Walkley winner, Norman also won a 2020 Walkley Award for Excellence in Journalism for Coronacast. He has been awarded the medal of the Australian Academy of Science, is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, has an honorary MD from the University of Sydney and a Medal of the Order of Australia (AM).
