Associate Professor Richard Taylor, currently in the School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics within the Queensland University of Technology’s Faculty of Engineering, conducts significant industrial research linked to the energy/power industry and Defence. His research focus is Applied Superconductivity in the fields of power, communications and instrumentation. For many years he has facilitated regular seminars for industry, academia and government. Richard has also been instrumental in establishing specialist QUT teaching and research facilities including a heavy current lab and an applied superconductivity lab.
Prior to this, Richard co-founded two companies, Mesaplexx Pty Ltd and Mosaic Information Technology Pty Ltd. These involved design, manufacture and marketing of next generation solutions for the wireless telecommunications market worldwide, and state-of-the-art electronic data communications equipment.
Richard is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Queensland.
