Susan Wright is a Collection Manager with the Entomology (Insect) section at the Queensland Museum. She has a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Entomology, through the University of Queensland. Working part-time with the University of Queensland Insect Collection (UQIC) during her degree sparked an interest in insect collections and taxonomy. Susan now cares for approximately 3.5 million specimens. Her work involves adding to and preserving the insect research, historical and display collections; conducting field work; collecting and identifying insects; assisting visiting researchers as well as contributing to exhibitions and books. In a strange twist of fate, the collection that first started her interest, is now held by the museum, being donated by UQ in 2011.
