Australian marine explorer Valerie Taylor was a former shark hunter in the 1950s until an encounter underwater transformed her into a passionate marine conservationist. Ever since, she has been fighting to save sharks and has contributed significantly to dispel misconceptions about them. Directed by Australian filmmaker Sally Aitken, Playing with Sharks debuted in the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, World Cinema Documentary Competition.
